Completed Jobs & Projects

Real work, completed across Greater Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. Every project safely planned and professionally executed.

Our Commitment To Safe Excavation

Every project on this page was planned with a site-specific safety assessment before any equipment moved. BC One Call utility locates were completed on every dig. WCB coverage and $5M liability insurance were current throughout.

Safe, compliant excavation is not a selling point for us. It is the baseline. Read our full Safety and Compliance policy →

Community Sports Field — Full Site Preparation & Drainage

Community sports field site preparation Burnaby
Sports field grading Burnaby

Complete site preparation and drainage installation for a community multi-use sports field. The existing surface was stripped to subgrade across the full site. A full underground drainage system was installed, flowing into a central drywell, with drainage aggregate and filter fabric placed over the system. Topsoil was placed and finish graded to precise tolerances. The field was seeded and handed back ready for use.

The drainage system was designed to eliminate standing water and keep the field playable year-round in Greater Vancouver’s wet climate.

⚠ Site Safety Note

The project was located adjacent to an active Transmountain Pipeline corridor. Ruck Excavating coordinated directly with Pipeline Protection Inspectors throughout the project and completed BC One Call locates covering all utility infrastructure in the work zone before any ground disturbance began.

Commercial Concrete Breaking — Recycling Facility

Contracted to break down large volumes of heavy concrete blocks at a commercial concrete recycling facility. Lock blocks and other oversized concrete were broken down for processing and site clearance. High volume work with tight turnaround expected on every cycle.

This is routine work for our hammer setup. The expectation is a clean result, efficiently delivered, every time.

⚠ Site Safety Note

All hammer work was conducted in coordination with on-site facility management. Work zones were maintained around the hammer given the volume and pace of operations throughout the contract.

Industrial Salt Stockpile — Regional Road Maintenance Operation

Industrial salt stockpile Lower Mainland BC
Komatsu excavator salt pile work

Stockpiling and shaping of a large-scale salt pile for a major regional road salt supplier. The work required consistent equipment operation at elevation to build and maintain the pile profile while keeping material accessible for seasonal deployment.

Large stockpile work at this scale requires experience with material behaviour and grade control. The pile was completed to spec and ready for the season.

⚠ Site Safety Note

Stockpile work at elevation requires deliberate equipment positioning and awareness of material stability throughout every cycle. All work was conducted under the site safety protocols of the operating facility.

Industrial Rail Infrastructure — Subgrade Preparation & Track Siding

Subgrade preparation and site work for a new railway track siding layout at an industrial rail facility. Work included detailed subgrade excavation and grading, ballast installation, and coordination with the rail installation crew during track and switch assembly placement. The site required precise earthwork tolerances to meet rail engineering specifications.

Rail infrastructure work demands a different level of precision than standard site work. Grade tolerances are tighter, sequencing with other trades is critical, and the consequences of error are significant. This project was completed on spec and on schedule.

⚠ Site Safety Note

The project was located adjacent to active operating rail corridors. All equipment operation was conducted under railway safety protocols with designated spotters in place and rigorous communication maintained with the rail operator throughout every shift.

Residential Lot Clearing — Mature Shrub & Root Removal

Before shrub removal Burnaby
After lot clearing Burnaby

Complete removal of approximately 100 linear feet of mature, overgrown brush and deep root systems from a residential property. Vegetation had been established for many years and root systems were extensive. Above-ground material was cut down and loaded out, and an excavator was brought in to extract root balls and clear the subgrade completely.

The site was left with a clean prepared subgrade suitable for new landscaping. All debris was removed from the property and the surrounding area was left undisturbed.

⚠ Site Safety Note

BC One Call was completed before any root extraction work began. Locates covered shallow residential gas, water, and telecommunications service lines in the work zone.
