Site Grading Contractor

Grade It Right. Build On It.

Good grading is the difference between a site that drains properly and one that holds water, settles unevenly, or causes problems for every trade that follows. Ruck Excavating does site grading that is accurate, properly drained, and ready for your foundation crew, paving contractor, or landscaper to take over.

We work from your site plans and engineer drawings. Building pads are established to the right elevation. Drainage is shaped so water moves off the site the way it is supposed to. Topsoil is stripped and stockpiled or removed. Rough grade and finish grade are done in sequence so nothing has to be redone.

We serve builders, developers, and general contractors across Greater Vancouver and the Fraser Valley who need site grading done right and on schedule.

Full Scope

What We Do

Building Pad Establishment

Pad cut or filled to the elevation your engineer specifies. Compacted, stable, and ready for forming. Your foundation crew walks onto a pad that is where it needs to be.

Rough & Finish Grading

Rough grade establishes the general elevations and flow. Finish grade brings the surface to final tolerances. Both done in proper sequence so your trades can follow without delays.

Drainage Shaping

Surface grades shaped so water drains off the site correctly. Swales, ditches, and positive drainage away from structures and adjacent properties.

Topsoil Stripping

Topsoil stripped and stockpiled on site for reuse, or removed completely. Subgrade exposed and ready for gravel base, construction, or paving prep.

Common Questions

FAQ

What is site grading?

Site grading is the process of shaping the ground surface to the elevations and slopes your project requires. It establishes building pads, creates proper drainage, and prepares the subgrade for construction, paving, or landscaping.

Do you establish building pads?

Yes. We cut or fill to the elevation specified on your engineering drawings and compact the subgrade so it is stable and ready for your foundation crew.

Can you do both rough and finish grading?

Yes. We handle both in sequence. Rough grade gets the elevations close, finish grade brings the surface to final tolerances. Your trades can follow without anything needing to be redone.

Do you handle drainage shaping?

Yes. Proper drainage is part of every grading job we do. We shape swales, ditches, and surface grades so water moves off the site correctly and away from structures.

Do you work from engineered drawings?

Yes. We read your site plans and grade to the elevations on the page. If something in the field does not match the drawings we communicate before we dig, not after.
