Road Building Contractor
Built To Last. Built To Carry Load.
Access roads and haul roads built wrong fail fast. Improper subgrade preparation, inadequate drainage, and undersized base course all show up the first wet season. Ruck Excavating builds roads that hold up because we do the groundwork right before the first load of gravel goes down.
We handle clearing, subgrade cut and fill, drainage installation, culvert placement, and gravel base for access roads on rural properties, industrial sites, farm operations, and subdivision development projects across Greater Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.
One contractor, full scope. Road cleared, graded, drained, and gravelled. Ready to use when we leave.

Common Questions
FAQ
What kind of gravel do you use for road base?
We use crushed gravel base course appropriate for the traffic load and site conditions. The specification depends on what the road needs to carry. We advise on this when we quote.
Can you build a road through bush or forested land?
Yes. Clearing, grubbing, and subgrade preparation through forested terrain is routine work. We clear the right of way, remove stumps and roots, and build on a proper subgrade.
Do you handle the drainage and culverts as part of the road build?
Yes. Drainage ditching and culvert installation are part of every road we build. A road without proper drainage will not last. We handle it all as one job.
Can you rehabilitate an existing road that has deteriorated?
Yes. We assess the existing subgrade and drainage, fix what has failed, and restore the gravel surface. Often cheaper than starting over if the original alignment and subgrade are still sound.
Do you work on farm and rural properties?
Yes. Farm access roads, field roads, and rural property access are common jobs across the Fraser Valley. We understand the practical requirements of agricultural and rural road construction.
